Virginia Watson
Registered PsychologistHi, I’m Virginia.
As a Registered Psychologist with Happy Minds Psychology, I work with teenagers and dults navigating all kinds of life challenges – whether that’s depression, anxiety, trauma, disordered eating, perfectionism, infertility, IVF, birth trauma, or the many chapters of the perinatal journey. As a parent of three myself, I have a particular interest in supporting parents through the demands and complexities of family life, and particularly mothers who are finding their way back to themselves amidst the chaos of family life.
I aim to provide a space that is warm, genuine, and free of judgement – somewhere you can openly express your thoughts and feelings without fear of getting it wrong. If you’re not sure where to start or what you need, that’s completely okay – we can figure that out together. I
take a warm, conversational approach to therapy, because feeling comfortable and understood is the foundation of any meaningful progress. I believe therapy works best when it’s built around you, which is why I take a client-centred, strengths-based approach, ensuring sessions are tailored to your unique needs and goals. I work exclusively via telehealth, meaning you can access support from the comfort of your own home, no commute required.
My professional experience lies in crisis counselling, and I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), CBT-E (Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for eating disorders), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – giving me a broad toolkit to draw from depending on what will serve you best.
